Advise On Lowering Boost Levels
I'm currently running a MY94 WRX Import with mods Including Type RA gearbox 1-4, standard 5th gear, STI LSD, STI ECU, Sard fuel pump, Genador de-cat centre pipe and back box, Megan De-cat downpipe and a K&N 57i Induction kit. After recently just fitting the downpipe my boost levels obviously raised, so I bought a manual boost valve to lower boost levels. I've been carefull running the car since, as on Initial test drive after fitting the downpipe It was boosting up to 1.4+bar.
I have the boost controler plumbed In between the Wastegate actuator (there's only one pipe that runs from It) to the boost solonoid, but even with It screwed anti-clockwise to It's lowest setting, the levels don't seem to drop. Would I have the boost valve fitted In the right place, and If so why can't I lower the boost?
Here's a pic of the type of boost valve I fitted.

its plumbed in wrong
the part that is pointing down at the moment needs to go to the nipple on the turbo, the part with the arrow pointing to needs to goto the actuator
the boost solenoid pipe is not used to control the boost anymore, stick a bolt in it and zip tie it up sumwhere

If you look at the picture shown below :-
On the outlet of the turbo there is a small pipe which exits on the side (top right of piccie) that is the turbo 'nipple' referred to by Stickymickey
Cheers
