Default turbo lagg

been happy with scooby for about 9 mths now untill tonight a mate had a blast in it and said if it was his ..he would nt be happy because of the the turbo lagg it does nt kick in till about 3500 then belts in ...he thought it had a big turbo on but i think its standard and that it s got race cat and over sized exhaust he reckons it should kick in a lot earleyer if its standard its got me thinking now

its a 93 wrx with no serious mods as yet k+n filter with 254 bhp running about 0.8 bar can any one give me an idea if this sounds about right or if me mate s right and any anti lagg idea ,solutions that i can try to eliminate it

Sounds about right to me mate: that's old school turbo power for ya! Light the fuse and wait for it.... If I understand it correctly, you can bring the turbo in earlier by Decatting the down pipe and going for a remap.

Bigger bore exhaust's (3"+) can cause more lag with standard turbo.
