Default Belt squealing?

The scoob has just started making a squealing noise that sounds like a belt slipping. It is only apparent on first start up for a few minutes then it goes. It also only happens when the wheel is turned so possibly power steering? THere seems to be no effect on the steering. Battery is staying charged ok so doesn't seem to be the alternator.

Any ideas?

Power steering and alternator use the same belt i think.Sounds like it just needs tightening a little.

Easy job if you have the tools.
Check the play on the belt on the longest travel length.
You should have about 1" movement at the centre of the travel.
If it is loose then tighten by loosening the alternator and then make the adjustment with the threaded adjuster mechanism.
Do not over tighten the belt.
If you are not confident, get someone who knows what they are doing to show you fist time around.
Less than a 10 minute job.

The juddering is the belt slipping and not giving full power assistance. Same thing can happen if it gets wet. Tighten it and it should be ok. Daz
