yeh thats right at around 3000/4000 rpm when you rev it harder or less than that its seems fine and you get a right good note of the dump valve but at the other revs it s just not right MO MO

My 02 WRX does the same! Its like the car revs when you dip the clutch between gears. I also have a VTA dump valve.

Default Revs During Gear Change

Guys

Just for info, my 2003 WRX started doing the same once I installed a straight through rear pipe. I have since read loads of guys complaining about the same but never read a sensible solution.

Let me know if you find one.

Cheers

mo mo

when I had my de-cat fitted the revs went up on gear changes......wierd !!

20,000 miles later it does't seem to have made any difference but the last EcuTeK re-map seems to have cured the oddity

I have a my02sti that does this when i have the vta fitted,When i go back to the o/e dump valve everything is normal. So im guessing its the lack of re-circ air making it over fuel when lifting off to change gear giving a slight over rev feeling.

Mine does it, i noticed after i changed the back box, but it could have been doing it before.
Its been asked before, and the answer was they all do it, its normal.

Guys

I t aint normal on a standard motor so the pipe / dump valve change must be affecting the fuelling somehow

mine does it as well,i always thought it was me dipping the clutch to early while i still had the foot on the accelerator when changing gear, but i then noticed if i lift my foot off the accelerator and not dip the clutch or change gear it still just slightly seems to rev up,mine is a my01 with just prodrive exhaust and panel filter,no dump valve.
