Heat soak is a term used for when the IC is taking in hot/warm air from the engine / exhaust system

Particularly bad on Imprezas since the warmth from the engine rises while the car is stationary and heats the intercooler up, then once you drive off you have an interwarmer for a minute or so until the airflow cools it back down. Not good for performance or knock resistance.
