Default Advice on induction sys please?

I have recently bought a 2001 bugeye WRX. I bought the car with an induction system fitted. I also have the OE airbox and afterreading some threads on here I am wondering should I put the OE airbox back in. The onlyother mods to the car are a ful decat. I cant afford a remap just at the minute. Any advice would be greatfully appreciated as I am new to this machine.
Cheers

John

Personally, I would put the original airbox back on, until you can afford a remap atleast.

OE Airbox is good for 350bhp.

IMHO, I would agree with Chris and put it back on.

Cheers

Good for 350 but will be restricting a bit of power at that level I would have thought.

What system was it? The vast majority of them are crap, and the good filters are defeated by the fact they draw warm air. Only good one is a K&N style with a heat shield on it, cold feed and a remap. APS style inner wing one is an ok design, but fatal if not remapped from what ive researched.

And use a genuine STi panel air filter for best results.

Otherwise, as DBM says above!
