Question Cam Belt Tensioner How Much £££££££

Am gonna be changing my cam belt soon and am planning on changing the cam belt tensioner (As i have read these can fail on a MY99 UK Turbo).

Just a few questions

- How much does it cost for the new revised tensioner (with green mark)
- Where can i get it from

- Is it worth re-using the old tensioner if there is no leakage of oil present and it is fully operational with no evident problems.

Cheers for the feedback in Adv!!

Find out where your nearest motor factors is that sell 'Blue print' parts. They cost £102 inc vat. Dealer price, £190 +vat.

if your paying £190 from a dealer, your getting shafted IMO

last year i paid somewhere in the region of £100 iirc either including or plus vat, for the genuine part.

it is a definate suggestion to replace the tensioner on my99/00's

tensioners for the older cars are cheaper i think

julian, stop being fecking clever.

I have seen some parts that are "genuine" and look about as far away from genuine as the north pole does from the uk.

each to there own i guess

you sometimes, just have to ask the dealer what he can do with the price, and wether cash makes a difference.
