Default Resetting the 'Engine Check' light

The 'Engine Check' light is flashing on my mates 1995 jap import scooby and as he is not very keen on using forums, i said i would ask. So, how do you reset the engine check light on a 1995 jap import WRX?

Thanks

Luke

Hi Luke.

It'd be wise for your friend to find out why it's flashing in the first place. Sure, 'reset' but the condition that triggered it may still be present.

He had the rocker cover gasket or something changed and they never reset it so now it is continuously flashing.

Cheers for the link but i am confused about Connect read memory connectors
(jumper 5) [black connectors]. What does that mean in english?

if its flashing at a constant speed, it sounds as if someone has done a "diagnostic check" and left the connectors plugged in......................

under the dash, slightly to the left of the steering column you will find (2x) single wire connectors, they should be hanging free, i.e. not joined to each other
