Default Oil filter

Would I be okay to use a non Subaru oil filter on MY 99 UK Turbo. Not sure if I once read a thread about this subject. Also what is the best viscosity for normal driving, odd blast but never prolonged.

why??? subaru oe filters from subaru dealer only cost me just over a fiver inc sump ring!!! recently scooby parts has gone down alot... i mean alot!!!!

Ring up your local dealer and u will be suprised... like me !!!

I was quoted 10quid by some garage ordering oe ones for me!!!

A chap on ebay is doing oe filters for £4.95 + £1.50 postage.

Imo it's just not worth fitting anything other than the genuine item. After all there only a fiver.

hate to say this but think someones "had your pants down" if its a genuine one - the RRP is only about £5.50inc..........................we do them at this (with a sump washer)!!!

Bought 2 filters and 2 sump washers from main dealer last week for £12 .
