Default TD04 to IHI VF28

Looking to upgrade the turbo on my MY98 uk from td04 to ihi vf28. Current set up on car is

Full decat exhaust
Green panel filter
Uprated fuel pump
Unichip piggy back chip

Currently running 275hp/270lb (measured on g-forces rollers.)

Would the ecu need a remap and what sort of improvements if any are there likely to be?

Thanks.

Any idea of what power i can expect by switching to the vf28 turbo? What i am looking for is a good spread accross thew rev range, but a little more top end. td04 seems to run out of puff just after 6k revs.

Getting the vf28 fitted today together with on sti4 intercooler. Will the car run ok? Is there anything obvious to look out for? Cannot get the car remapped for a couple of weeks.

I done a similar change to you on an MY98.
Went from TD04 to VF30.
I just ran mine on no boost altogether by running a pipe directly from the turbo compressor to the wastegate actuator.

Just untill you get it mapped.

Car will run fine, just dont over do it !!
