Lightbulb In-laws MY 94 WRX WAGON....

Something odd occuring.
No mods, not even exhaust. Presume standard TD04 installed.

Is it correct to start spooling at around 1800 rpm ?
Also must be overboosting occasionally, and hitting fuel cut.
Also gives hell of a funny noise when initially spooling up, like a hoover starting is best I can describe. Tails off as turbo pressure increases.

Something upsetting it somewhere, dont know enough turbo theory to think it through.
Anyone help.

yes for 1800. 1 bar around 2400
they can be a bit whistly, but depends on induction kit/exhaust.
the start slooping the boost off from 5k , if not before

Thnx SD.
so the spool-up @ 1800 ok, but 1 bar ? i fort they went to around 0.8.
They're occasionally hitting fuel cut and the boost doesnt reach 1 bar, around 0.8 an a bit I think. Its spiking sometimes, I presume hence fuel cut.
What i'd like to know is whats doing it
