£355 Service due, any cheaper places up north?
Just contacted Monty's of Sheffield for a service quote, the car is on 52000 and missed its 37,500 and 47,000 service (I didnt have the motor then). I rang up and they said it will need the cam belt service and the price is £355 inc.
Is that acceptable for a Subaru price? Shall I just stop moaning and get it done?
Thanks.
Paul.

The only use in having the car serviced by subaru is to maintain a service history and resale value but if its already missed two then the best thing is change the oil and filter yourself (about £30) and get someone to do the cambelt for you (look to pay £80 labour and £50 for the belt). If you are feeling brave you could go to WHS and get a copy of practical mechanics mag where they do a cambelt on their scoob and make it look easy.

Give Scoobyclinic a call.
Or in Manchester area jap innovations or Prosport.
All are excellent places and know what they are doing.
And will be cheaper than what you have been quoted.
