If ive been giving the car a bit of boot, then open a window or sunroof, there is a slight petrol smell. (worse through sunroof)

i would say for you to check all the fuel pipes under the bonnet and check none of them are leaking. and check the fuel filter is not leaking.

You may like to search out to review (and add comments to) to the threads I started ('Petrol Smell' and 'Petrol Smell in car sometimes').

There seems to be a small gathering of people trying to resolve petrol smells into car from engine bay - my problem does not appear to be a leak, but the whiff occurs when car is warming up during colder/freezing weather.
