I wanted to get a new key cut for my MY00 and I went to my local key-cutter and he tells me he can't program the immobiliser chip and I have to get a replacement from a Subaru Dealer.

However the dealer wants £50!!!!!!!!!!!

Please can someone tell me if this is true???

Key plus new zapper cost me £130 . on the plus side though, they recoded the immobiliser for both keys and entered a PIN no of my choice which saved me having to push the car out of Gateshead Ikea's car park to get it away from all the mobile phone masts...
