Default DOWN PIPE TURBO HEAT SHEILD

got my de cat down pipe fitted but the fitter said he can't put the heat sheild back on the turbo because the moutings are on the original pipe.

is there any way a can put the std heat sheild on back on
or
will it be safe without one on
or
can i get an after market one or make one some how?

Not sure what he means about the mountings... I thought the mounting bracket is attached to the back of the turbo. When mine was fitted, the heatshield wouldn't go back on simply because the new downpipe was so much wider at the top. Introduced the heatshield to a pair of tin snips, job done...

I didnt put mine back on.....running with no problems (3 years)

I also cut the bottom of the heatshield to clear the downpipe.

mine was cut to fit and put back on.

i cut mine around the new downpipe and bolted it straight back on no probs
also put some exhuast rap around the downpipe.
