DIY subaru maintenance
Picked up my first turbo'd impreza last night, an MY98 estate. I'm one of these people who likes to tinker around in the garage and i'm wondering what things I can do to it, just maintenance wise, to keep her running sweet. Its getting an oil change on saturday
I'm flushing out the coolant tonight, so any advice would be appreciated.
Also, is there anything I can do to cure the idle, as it seems to drop very low when coming up to lights but then goes back up to idle. Had this problem on an RS and it got to the point were it would cut out
Many thanks
Chris

The last couple of editions of car mechanics magazine has a series of scooby maintenance, this months it's the cambelt...
agree with cong - your prob sounds like its the MAF - about £77 from a dealer for a new one. Do a seach in General Technical for finding out about checking CEL codes.

Just to re-emphasise, Scoobies can be very fussy about the oil change procedure being spot on to ensure the oil pressure is back up before starting the engine, there's loads of info about the best way to do it on here if you search.
