Default limiting on acceleration

My '94 JDM WRX has developed a problem today, after going to the petrol station and filling to the brim (might have nothing to do with it but i thought i better mention it) the car wouldn't accelerate properly, it felt as though you were momentarily hitting a rev limiter which then disappeared and reappeared again after another 2-300 revs, it was almost as though it was an electronic accelerator which had a dodgy connection if you get my meaning. The only time it didn't do it was when i really spanked it then it pulled hard the rest of the time its like a bag of spanners.

Any ideas?

Did you fill up at your regular petrol station?

I've had a couple of occasions where I've filled up with supposed SUL, and my 93 WRX has run like a complete bag of nails as soon a pulling off the forecourt. Fill up at my regular petrol station, and the car has eventually sorted itself out.
I've found Texico worst for this in the past - apparently SUL will go 'off' over time, reducing it's octane rating. I now stick to Optimax, or use SUL and add booster, just to be safe.

So, possibly duff fuel. Bung in some octane booster and do an ECU reset - should sort it!

Thanks for that, i will give that a try just in case, though i filled it with Optimax at my usual filling station (i say usual its only had 5 tanks while i've owned it and 3 were from there!)
