Default Knocklink Help

Trying to find suitable location for sensor for Knocklink, have looked at Stefans site for info, but i dont have threaded bolthole where he suggests. My car is a 93 WRX Ra, is it ok to use something already bolted down as a mounting point?
Thanks
Tom

I fitted one to an RA a couple of weeks ago. The hole Bob Rawle recommended we use is under the front edge of the intercooler, down next to (under) the thick pipe goign to the inlet manifold. There's a gap looking downwards so you can get to it without removing the intercooler.

It was an empty hole on this RA, but some cars have a thin metal bracket fixed there, if there is you can remove the bolt and fit the sensor on top of the bracket with a longer bolt.

Think thats where i already tried, managed to get bolt jammed and finally sheared off before it tightened up enough to hold sensor. Dont think it was threaded, so was cutting its own thread!

Umm, it was definately threaded on this one. Looked a bit corroded though so we bunged a drop of oil in there and some coppaslip on the bolt first.

Theres another threaded hole in the block nearer the front of the car, right in the space where an aircon pump goes if you have one. Hard to see or get to if you have aircon, easy if not. It's a larger thread than the other one though...
