Angry 04 Brakes / Gearbox HELP

Since purchasing my 04 I have noted the following problems and wondered if anyone can help.

1. Following the washing of the car I now have a banging when I apply the brakes? Anyone got any ideas why this should be?

2. First thing in a morning I have noticed that when changing down from third to second it will not engage second gear without an amount of force on the gear level, however once the oil is warm say after 4 miles it seems fine? ANy ideas.

The brakes will bind if you've let the car sit after a wash, I always go for spirited drive to dry things off.
The gearbox thing is normal when cold, 2nd can be a pain when cold and I can only ever engage 1st when stationary. Never force the gears.

I would do nothing, it's just the metal that the discs are made of. It rusts very quickly. Very common on performance discs.
Never ever spray anything other than water on the brake discs.

Just go for a drive after jet washing or washing the wheels.

Question

I have also now noticed that when I brake hard or depress the pedal quickly I get a rather loud single bang. Any ideas ? Should I remove the pins and grease them ? If so what is the best grease to use.
