Question Car cured now, so is a remap really worth it?

My car has been running badly recently so I took it to Power Engineering to get looked at. Iain @ PE did a great job of sorting the car out and explaining everything to me as he went along and after replacing the faulty Air Flow Meter the car is now running perfectly. The car is a P1 with the following mods:

Uprated fuel pump
3" Decat downpipe
HKS Hiper exhaust

When the car was standard I RR'ed it at PE and it got 282bhp and 245lbs/ft. Yesterday, in virtually identical weather conditions to the previous run it got 305bhp and 275lbs/ft.

I have just bought a knocklink and boost gauge and am thinking of putting a bigger bonnet scoop on and maybe an STi 8 Intercooler but what I cannot decide is whether to get the car remapped or not?

Does anyone have an idea as to how much more performance I might get out of the car with a map in its current state and also with the planned mods mentioned above?

Cheers

Si

Si, it's not so much a question of how much more power you will get with the Tek3 (Although, I have no doubt that the car will be improved on in all areas with a Tek3)
It will be more of a safety issue!!

Running an Unmapped P1 with a de-cat is abit of a gamble IMHO
If you were to change the TMIC for the STI8 then It would definitely benefit from Tek3, as the I/C will be far more efficient and the rest of the car will need to be adjusted to suit.

Im sure JB, BR or Pat etc will respond to this thread, listen to what any of them have to say!

Cheers for the the reply pickle.

I guess its better to be safe than sorry! My suspicion was that a remap would make the car run safer overall, and if I get the car
mapped to run on Optimax without NF then the remap will pay for itself in the end
