My scooby has just reached its 500 miles after an engine rebuild and is due for an oil change. Its currently running on mineral Oil. I've been told it needs to be changed to valvaline or sylkaline oil (excuse the spelling!). However i've been told that Mobil 1 oil can be used.

What did your engine builder tell you? I would run it to 1000miles on mineral oil, keeping it below 4000 rpm before you drop the oil, I would then use a semi syth 10w40 until the next service, then fully synth after that, give (sales@opieoils.co.uk) a ring, the person to speak to is Simon.

Edited to say depends on which grade of Mobile 1, ie not 0w grade
