Default TD05 boost levels?

Hi, just a couple of general questions about the TD05 unit. What sort of boost can a TD05 hold? what is the rev range it can hold this boost?

many thanks

I believe this will depend on what other mods you have to compensate for the boost required.

I am running a TD05 with the standard Intercooler running 1.2bar, hopefully be increasing this to 1.3bar once the fmic goes it...

Some people running near 1.5bar, again you have to make sure the car can cope...

1.5bar.....1.6bar....1.7bar....1.8bar

How high do you want it?

Turbo can cope but can your internals ?

That's not entirely accurate Bob. Every turbo has its limit.

If you want an accurate answer, you need to know which compressor your turbo's using, find the relevant compressor map, work out your volumetric efficiency at various RPMs, and plot them on the map...

The TD05H-16G use different compressors?

TD05H-16G's compressor map goes up to 2.9 bar pressure ratio. Probably with losses across the intercooler, throttle body etc, 1.8 bar would be a sensible limit. I ran mine at 1.7 bar and it was rather torquey. Your gearbox will not like it though unless STi.

1.8 bar is not sensible to hold until the red line on a 2.0. Try more like 1.2-1.3 bar with headers and good intercooling to get about 340 BHP.

He didn't specifically state it was a 16G. But whichever compressor he's using, it still has a surge limit and choke area...
