Default Any one identify this problem ???

Right lets try and explain this.
MY99 turbo 17” ST2 alloys (factory fit).

Have a problem with the n/s front, when on lock travelling slowly either forward or in reverse. Seems sort of lumpy, like the tyre is out of shape or something is flexing. But when in motion the car drives perfectly straight with no obvious vibrations
Putting a pair of new tyres on the front tomorrow.

But wouldn’t mind any suggestions or comments.

Taking it to the "clinic" next week for geom check hopefully but i think it might be a bit more than just the geom.

get your alignment checked too.

if your off to the clinic, it wont cost much. About half an hours work to repair the cv joint, if it needs a new one, then i dont know what one costs.

i assume you have cked nothing is fowling the wheel on lock?

Just had the tyres changed, gave it a "good going over" with the wheels off. couldn't feel, see anything. No movement or play. Had a good look at the tyre and did seem to be out of shape slightly.
Drove back to work and seems ok ! will give it a good try out later
Must book into the clinic next week to get the geom done though.

Tim.
