Thats about the total extent of the mods I've made on my car so far. Where should this £1K burning a hole in my pocket go? granted it doesn't get much in the world of scooby modding but the wife has only allowed this much as our new driveway is costing a bit more than expected.

Suspension - whiteline goodies, uprated shocks and trip to Powerstation? I'm put off by this as I don't want to make the ride any harder than it is now.

Bodywork - P1 lip spoiler, STI5 rear spoiler, STI rear lights and PIAA spotters.

What would you guys do? Cheap holiday in the sun for winter?

 

STi 8 Intercooler (S/H) £250 ish, VF34/VF35/FE TD05 turbo £350 ish, and the remaiing £400 on a remap, some ARB's and maybe a P1 lip soiler etc Stretch that Money

 

Thanks for the engine mods suggestions but I'd rather leave that alone until I've got a decent whack of cash to go on it. I thought I'd be closer to £2.5K but we've (well, one of us!) has decided we can't just have a nice wedge of tarmac where our front lawn is we have to have walls and paving and gravel etc....

 

I'd do the suspension - as far as rear solid drop links and adjustable rear ARB + the bumpsteer mod and 4 wheel alignment from powerstation. [ All that should be less than £400 ]. I have a MY00 too and found it makes a lot of difference. I dont think the springs and shocks need changing for anything harder either! I was trying to find the spring rate on the MY00 as I think it is similar to the later classic STis anyway.

If you havent already - I'd also upgrade the brake pads all round.

 

Discs/Pads are new but just OE replacements so I'll leave them till later. Plan is to fit bigger discs once current ones need replacing.

I'm really tempted by the whiteline stuff and a visit to powerstation and I know people say there is a difference but what sort of differences are there once these parts are fitted and how much will I notice the changes?

might get a few little bits too like steel brake lines and some new mats as mine are pretty tatty nowadays!

 

speak to Dave Featherstone from demon tweaks, he might be able to sort you with the 15% discount we all got a wee while ago on whiteline products...
I got solid f+r droppers, caster (anti lift) kit and adjustable bar for a fraction of the cost.
fit em yourself and then get powerstation to do your bumpsteer and geometry.

then you will have enough to do the VF upgrade as well as an sti tmic

then when you get your next bunce you can stretch to the map.

Id go for a new turbo and spend the rest on a remap, im running a VF23 Turbo on a MY00, and theres a big diffrence over the little TD04, and a £1000 could get you quite a bit if, you search round the for sale section.

 

The rear ARB and droplinks make a huge difference to turn in and roll through corners - you get less understeer and the car feels much better balanced.

Well worth the money !
