Super unleaded would be the safer option....but I am talking of the STI, the WRX may be less fussy in standard form...but if you start modding, then Super for sure.
I just filled up with Esso's SUL, and the engine still performs ok, with no knocklink activity, it just runs a bit rougher.

If you're referring to a JDM WRX, then both regular unleaded AND super unleaded are bad ideas, without a good dose of octane booster, with regular obviously worse than super.
If you're referring to a UK WRX with no performance modifications, then either will suffice, depending on what level of performance and fuel consumption you're happy with.
