whats wrong with my subaru?
Hi,
got myself a subaru impreza wrx type ra, i love it to bits however when accelerating with my foot flat on the floor it keeps jerking and wont let me accelerate until i take my foot off the floor a bit. does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? and how do i overcome it.
cheers

Mine threw me through the windscreen yesterday.
I'm just waiting for the engine to cool and then my dawes is coming off for me to stretch the spring. It's mapped to run at 1.25 bar but is spiking like a **** in the cold misty weather.
Am I thinking and doing the right things?

Holte, it sounds like your boost solenoid needs cleaning, its located on the drivers side suspension mount under your bonnet, it will have 2 rubber pipes coming off it, remove the unit itself and spray brake cleaner into both holes, let it dry (2 mins) and then re-fit it and all should be well.

I'd have to agree with Tone on the pre97 coil pack thing. That would just feel really jerky on acceleration, kinda misfiring as well.
Other than that it could just be a case of the cold weather coming in & you're hitting the fuel/boost cut. Like Dyney says you would certainly notice that as it would feel like you were being thrown through the windscreen. Car would just seem to die on full boost.
I'd get a boost gauge in the car to keep an eye on what the boost is doing but I would certyainly get the coilpacks checked (if pre97)
