Default intercooler change MPG???

Does anyone have any ideas as to why my MPG seems to of gone downhill after i fitted a STi intercooler (nothing else was done) on my 2004 WRX, i've checked all the hoses after fitting it and the car is running fine but it just seems to be drinking a lot more fuel

Cheers

Cooler - denser air, less flow resistance through I/C and better volumetric efficiency all contribute to more power = more fuel! As simple as that!
