Will car pass MOT with 1 wheel nut off?
One of the threaded bars on my front wheel hub is that bad that i cant get a nut to go on it.
Will the car pass like this or will i need to get a new hub or it just a matter of knocking out the threaded bar and inserting another or what?

Do what I did - Blu tac it on for the MOT.
You'll need to get a new stud & nut from a dealer - about £4 for both. To replace you'll need to remove the brake caliper & disc and hammer the old one out (then hammer new one in). You can do it with the disc on but it's so fiddly it's a quicker job to remove it.

Honestly mate - I'm a total numptie when it comes to car mechanics but even I managed this one! (eventually)
Warning though - don't try to pull the stud through onto the hub by tightening the nut like I did first time round - you'll just rip the thread off both the stud and nut.

the new stud goes in from the back - same way old comes out.
getting access to putting it back in is a lot easier if you jack the car up when the stud you need to replace is at the bottom, so turn you wheel round so its the one nearest the ground. There's a plate behind the hub at the top that'll stop you getting a hammer at it to knock it through. (Mine's an MY00) They're usually stiff buggers so you won't stand much of a chance with fingers only - they also have a habit of trying to go in at a funny angle.
If it was me I'd buy 2 studs - they're only a couple of quid so it's gonna break the bank.

Yes it will fail and the tester is not allowed to strip/dismantle any component whilst carrying out the MOT ...HOWEVER if you have a centre cap that covers the wheel nuts and unless you tell him a nut is missing he won't see it and be able to fail it.
