Default ECU info/help needed < im putting a wrx engine in a sport>

right first off the good news is ive got all the wires out of the wrx <my93/94>
bad news is the ECU on the sport has 3 plugs the ecu on the wrx has 4
i wanted to just add the extra wires needed and just change the ecu but it dont look like i can do this,

any info or help would be happy to hear from you

the sport ECU is a D3 < 3 CONNECTING BLOCKS>

the wrx ECU is a U8 < 4 connecting blocks>

It would probably easier to get the loom from the WRX

None of the plugs fits the WRX ECU ?, I take it you were hoping to use the existing loom and add only the extra wires. Sounds like a long job.

I would prob pull the loom from the WRX and run that in, otherwise its a long job with a wiring diagram. You maybe able to extract the pins from the block and re-crimp, but it often takes a special tool to pull the pins from the connector block.

although a fairly costly option, considering youve just forked out for a donor wrx, you might want to look at running an aftermarket ecu and getting it mapped.

could take away a lot of the pain of switching looms

It could be a simple matter that the year of his car simply uses a 3 pin ecu, as 97/98 cars did.
Early pre96 cars used a 4 pin connector.

Engine choice will dictate a lot.

IMO,you will have to transplant the wiring loom from the wrx.

You need to create a loom adaptor then..

You need a wiring diagram from the sport and the turbo wiring diagram..

93 - 94 is different too.. does the crank position sensor have a cable coming from it, or is the connector on top of it?
