Coolant change question
Guys, after driving home last night in a traffic jam, the car ran fine once the fan had kicked in. This got me thinking about coolant. So I went looking for the last time mine was changed.
Low and behold I found some starttling details, it hasn't been changed in 45k miles
The last garage to service her at 155k miles gaver her a 15k service not a 30k service.
Question is if I fill the coolant system with just water would I hurt the block? It would act as a flush until tomorrow night when I have some antifreeze turning up.
I need the car to get to work and only plan on driving 8 fairly easy miles with just water as coolant.
its a MY96 sport so nit a highly stressed engine.
Cheers
Simon

I uasually drain it all out, poke the hose pipe in and leave it running until all the crappy water has come out, put cap back on, run it until warm will fresh water and repeat the process until its really clean, then put your anti-freeze in and top up.
