No noise from Blitz DV after fitting HKS FMIC?
Fitted an HKS FMIC the other day, before hand had very good noise out of the dump valve, now after fitting the FMIC there is none, well if there is its minimal until right up the rev range.
The is a flutter from the wastegate, thats about it, does anyone have any ideas?

You will prolly have to adjust the spring tension (if possible) on the DV - the FMIC has now added additional air volume which is now taking the easiest route out via inlet tract as DV either isn't opening enough or is inadequate to vent the additional pressure quick enough.

If the HKS is similar to my Blitz - clockwise adds tension and Anti-clockwise reduces spring tension (will vent quicker). Don't remove too much tension though as you may experience problems with Idle as the vacuum will overpower spring opening DV slightly

Its plumbed in correctly. I tried the screw clockwise and anticlockwise to no avail. Not much difference.
Dont know what to do, would the length of the vacuum hose make a difference?
Will maybe have to sell the dump valve and bung the hole up

Made no difference when i fitted the FMIC Carle,
although, i did get the fluttering noise.
I was running 1.4bar, so still a fair bit of boost, and the HKS ssqv that i was running seemed to chirp away as before.

Check for Vacuum at DV end, get Mate to Take up to 4500rpm with a damp finger over the pipe end that fits to DV, then Take foot fast off throttle, if Vacuum there, DV maybe U/S. Just check there is not a Full blanking plate gasket under DV and that the hole is open to Tube.
if not there check the Other the Valve on other end of Pipe, do as above but put finger on Valve end. If Vacuum there check Pipe, if not If No Vacuum at Valve, some sh1te may have gone down the Pipe blocking Valve. Electrical connection OK, Does waste gate open? is pipe that disconnected split, have you fitted a new 3port Valve and connected up correctly?
To check Pipe, put damp finger over one end. Then, suck other end putting Tonge over hole it should stick to it for a minute+ and then take your finger off. it should pop of your Tongue
some off this may be Obvious to you but just trying to help

I am running a very similar setup - FMIC & BLITZ DV and experienced the same problem when moving from the TMIC.
- The internal port diameter is the same on DV.
- The problem has only occurred since fitting an FMIC with pipework which has around ~2.5 times more volume than TMIC setup.
So the boost pressure level is unchanged but with an increased volume venting through the same DV with same/similar period of time to vent, therefore the DV will struggle to dispose of the total volume in the set time period so the air will take the easiest route with minimal restriction back through the inlet tract/air filter.
Even with my DV adjusted to vent at its maximum air can be clearly heard venting through the airfilter - I am running ~1.4bar boost too
Cheers
If your running the same boost levels, IC volume wont affect it.

You could try using the HKS as a comparison but it wouldn't be advisable to blank off IMHO - it may prove to be detrimental to the turbos life.

As mentioned above - I have a similar setup
The Blitz DV is still clearly audible even with a trumpet filter although a majority of the air is venting back through inlet tract.
Perhaps the Blitz needs disassembling and cleaning as the Piston may be sticking

It was cleaned a couple of months ago and was fine on old intercooler and cleaned it after fitting to the FMIC, it is the trumpet style fitment and the piston does work as you can see it move in and out when putting foot on throttle and taking off.
There is a bit of sound out of it at high rpm, but nothing compared to what it used to be like and also no noise from it on low rpm compared to quite a bit before.

Tried my mates HKS SSQV, there was a bit more noise out of his but not much.
Could it be down to there is a lot more noise from the wastegate than before and thats the reason why im not hearing it?
