Question turbo removal

what is it like to take the turbo of an my96 sti and remove a snapped stud that secures the downpipe ?whats the best way

Would it not be easyer to remove the downpipe and then remove the stud with the turbo in place.

the stud is solid i was going to try and drill it out

Which one is it cause i have a nut missing of the one at the bottom left as the threa has been stripped and it does nt seem to have made a bit of differance with the nut missing

A mechanic told me .........................
Depending on which one is broken you can just drill straight through and put a high tensile nut and bolt

Save you a lot of time

Just an idea
