Question Sticky speedo

Hi all,

my MY93 seems to have recently developed a slight problem with the speedo clock. It keeps sticking when it's cold. After the cabin has warmed up it frees itself off. Has anyone else had this problem, if so whats the cure?? Gets really annoying in the morning when approaching Gatsos having to guess the speed.

thanks in advance

SoNiCa, the MY98 has an electronic speedo clock. Mine started playing up - wavering all over the place, not moving when pulling away, etc etc. Dealer first tried replacing a sender which I believe is mounted on the gearbox, but in the end on their recommendation I got a replacement clock set from Grade A Subaru for about £100 which cured the problem.

mine seems to stick when it's cold, banging the dash frees it up. i cant decide if it would be cable or clock related. but i belive it must be clock. i think i might have to invest....

Mike, the dealer suggested me to change the sender but I denied them because I was thinking that the problem is on the clock. They offered 400 usd for the clock!
