i'm not sure but i think they are 260ps when run on 100ron fuel.

 

hi mate get the engine code model its on the chasis plate number starts off gc8**
then go onto www.sidc.co.uk faq section.
by the way a 96 wrx will be 260 ps engine on 100 ron fuel so it'l be about 256 bhp

Don't rely on the SIDC faq section on PS/BHP. Remember the car you buy may have been 260PS or 280PS when it was built and as said before, run on 100RON fuel. Mine is quoted as 300PS approx 295BHP for the STi. Went on the rollers on Saturday with a Scoobysport back box as the only mod and got 273BHP. A lot less than expected as the back box should add 10%! I did put a Magnex de-cat centre pipe on and the comparison test showed 288BHP, better, but still not 295BHP as quoted.

 

The JDM variants run a more aggressive ignition map with increased boost - but of course on diet of 100+ RON fuel
