Question Fitting a knocklink to an STi8 - sensor mounting?

Hi all

Fitting a knocklink at the weekend and I'm after some advice!

Where is the best place to mount the new knock sensor in the engine bay? Could someone please advise as the instructions with the unit are less than clear.

Cheers all

Dave.

I think there is a spare bolt hole under the intercooler mate.

I'll see if I can find a pic...

ScoobyL's right, there's a perfect place under the intercooler on the passenger side. It's an M8 threaded hole on a small machined face, and you don't need to remove the intercooler to locate the sender, there's more than enough room to do the job (unless you've got hands like King Kong)

That's a good link, but to emphasise that you don't need to remove the intercooler, and the M8 hole is open and unused on the 03STi
As for the STi4 - I'm not sure, there may be an intercooler bracket using this hole, so follow the link instructions?

I used your fitting guide when i fitted my knocklink today which was very helpful, just one thing and that is you don't need to remove the intercooler to get to the bolt hole, otherwise thanks for the guide.
