Non Interference Engine?
Does anyone know if the Subaru Impreza MY00 has a non interference engine? If so does anyone have any links on web or info on this. For anyone not sure, non interference engines are engines designed not to bend valves when timing belt snaps and valves contact piston head. All MK1 AND MK11 MR2 and Volvo engines have this design. I have heard Subaru engines also have this design, but I am unsure which model/engines have it?

You don't mention if you mean a turbo or a n/a impreza...n/a will be more likely to suffer damage due to the higher compression giving less combustion space at TDC.
Also, I belive it's possible for the valves to interfere with each other too (valves are angled towards each other)
