Default lift-off DET

I've read that DET can occur on throttle lift off and this seems to be happening sometimes in my scooby.

If there is no real strain on the engine as you are no longer accelerating then perhaps it is not damaging to the engine. Would that be the case?

What is the cause of it??

The only thing I can think off is that the injectors are cutting fuel before the air is cut off.

Or is it that I am just getting DET just before I lift off and there is no such thing as lift-off DET.

Any ideas

As I understand it, det occurs on lift off because the current ecu map can't keep up with the fuelling demands of the engine between full throttle gearchanges.....It's not so much lifting off that causes the problem, as the difficulty the ( presumably unmodified ) ecu has in adjusting the fuelling when you re-apply the throttle in the next gear at high revs.....a standard map on a modified engine is likely to be the cause of this, as it was on mine. Significantly, it's the ratios that apply most torque that generally highlight this problem.
