Unhappy would the wrong oil cause loss of performance and....

general lifelessness from an MY99 UK with 82K on the clock?

I'm asking because the car went in for it's 82.5K service fine. No probs at all.

When it came out, even as I drove up the road, the urgency/accelleration/performance that was there previously, had disappeared

Also, above 3000 rpm, the car starts to judder......

They thought it might be faulty spark plugs now changed
They thought it might be faulty ignition pack now changed

They're trying new HT(?) leads in the morning. I'm not convinced this will make any difference.

The service comprised of -

Screen wash
Brake cleaner (new pads fitted)
Semi synthetic oil (no details on thickness etc)
Air filter
Oil filter
Fuel filter

The only other thing I can think of is a dodgy fuel filter - starving the engine?

Clutching at straws.......

HELP!!!!

OK, after some consultation (thanks Tony ), the 3 things are as follows :-

1. Little pipe by MAF - may have not been put back on during service
2. During service MAF has got contaminated, resulting in failing MAF. Must be during service, as it was affect straight afterwards.
3. Failing Lambda

a "thanks" to spufus too - same as above

I say "Failing", as no codes have shown up on the diagnostics from ECU.

The oil thing was clutching at straws

Will let you know how I get on tomorrow

Could possably be that they reset your ECU,and its got to start its learning curve again.
I had the same query a while back and was advised to go for a "spirited" drive for half an hour so that it can learn all the ideal ign advance-lo and behold,it worked

easy

Called Subaru this morning - they too reckon it's a failing MAF - £260!!! They reckong the part number (22794AA010-meterCP-airflow) won't fit my housing MY99

Boooo! what else can I do?

they're having a laugh. That's the right part number for a 99/00 maf sensor only.
