Is your Lambda O2 sensor ok ?? and hows about asking them to take the car out for a drive to get the car properly warmed up (not just let it sit and idle) and then see what happens

as Nelson says sounds like lambda sensor...
sometimes they might do a fast idle test at say 2000rpm where the cat then gets warmer and the emissions lower.. depends if they are able to monitor the rpm with a probe or not..
As to roll bar links you would do best to get some solid drop links rather than the standard plastic ones, and cheaper too.. check the scoobyshop they probably list them. Whiteline ones are pretty good and should tighten up your handling slightly too.

As stated, some cars need a severe warm up to get through. Mine failed three times in a row, before another tester sat in and held it at 3000 rpm for a couple of mins max. Even a good nailing up the road prior to the third attempt didn't work, but it's sailed through the last three years with the above treatment. Good luck,

Have you tried an Ecotek CB-26P device on your car? Mine just got through the MOT on a full decat with one of these devices fitted - check out the following links (Evo boys swear by them):

Hope this helps.

If you think about it though, 4k rpm in say forth gear is about 60-70ish, just take the car for a good hard drive before the test, that is what we used to advise customers at the garage I worked at, and it did make a difference.
