DE-CAT
Im thinking of de-catting MY03 STI PPP do i need to get it re-mapped straight away afterwards?

no remapping neccesary. just 25bhp increase with upgraded centre pipe and rear box.
will fail mot just about but go to friendly garages etc!!!
got 2 yrs till it needs an mot anyway.

I'd be interested to know this as well.
I also have an 03 Sti with PPP and after two classics I'm struggling to enjoy the cars performance...>300bhp?,then I'm a banana
I've recently replaced the resonated centre section with a straight thro Hayward + Scott pipe,coupled with a TSL group N tailpipe,which seems to have improved throttle response somewhat..but I'm still very disappointed with the cars overall power delivery characteristics.
..ooh!,and don't get me started on the gearbox

sti's have 1 cat. non sti's have 2. u need to replace both for extra power. the one on the down pipe is the big one. it will pass the mot with 1 cat but it wont have 25bhp more power.

if you de-cat you will HAVE to get a remap otherwise you will have over boost problems, look at getting a higher flowing cat and save yourself the mot problems
