Default Disconnected Lambda + CEL

When you start the engine with the lambda disconnected, should the CEL light come on. I've just disconnected mine and it didn't.

Cheers

I think it does just to check everything is ok and then it goes off. I have been having idle problems so to test it I decided to take the lamda senor off tonight on the way home and the cel light did not go on, I thought it would. hope this helps

What problems are you having to disconect the lamda? Idle? Did you do an ecu reset after fitting your mates maf? I think you might have to. I thought my problem was maf but after fitting a good second hand and guaranteed maf the problem was excactly the same.
