Default Handling problem - help needed

I'm currently living in Ireland and have a year 2000 Impreza turbo. Currently the handling is all over the place - the back end feels light around corners and under braking or on bumpy surfaces it is a real handfull to control. Under normal driving even a white line or cat-eye in the road will cause the car to alter direction. I have had 4 wheel tracking done to no avail and taken it to three different garages over here who told me 1) all shocks ok, 2) both left shocks gone, 3) back right shock gone. Any ideas what the problem could be and how I could diagnose the problem and decide myself seeing as the garages over here seem incapable? I have had four new Pirelli p-zeros on the car in the past 4 months so tyres are in good shape.
Any help very gratefully received!

Steve, Not what you perhaps wanted to hear, But does sound shocker related, I would myself if unsure about the shockers , fit a set that you know are fine & roadtest, Trouble with this is time, finding some to fit & plus maybe upsetting your geom settings etc.
If tyres, bushes, Droplinks & arms etc are all ok, then whats is left ?? The shockers

Dean

How many Miles has the car done on these shockers ??

I know some people swear by the Pirellis but I found they made my car handle terribly. Understeered all the time. I argued it for weeks with my local dealer who finally put Bridgestones back on and it was cured. This was a 1999 Car. Maybe totally unrelated of course.

Thumbs up

May or may not improve things, but check the tyre pressures, my MY00 does all sorts of odd things when they are wrong (especially the backs).

Hi mate-sounds exactly like mine last year-took it to TSL for some Eibachs and they were like "have you seen your shockers" Two had split - left front and right rear. Caused the back end to go out all the time. Simple test was to put pressure on them and try sliding them down-the two that were split meant that you could push them down with two fingers and very little pressure. No compression at all!!

Coilovers and geometry soon sorted that little problem out!!!
