Lightbulb Odometer reset

Hi all,

who knows how to change the amount of km's on the odometer of a 96 scooby?, the first owner thought he had the right to put it back to zero after changing his shortblock.
Do I need to take it apart or can it be done with the selectmonitor ?

Greetzzz,

Franzz

Well, I'd like to put mine up, would that be O.K ?

Had to have a new speedo head fitted as the old one failed, car now shows 15,000 instead of 80k ish.

It's only clocking if you try to pass off an incorrect mileage ie commit a fraud/deception

My speedo failed, got a second-hand instrument panel with a lower mileage. Just got a dealer to stamp and sign the log book showing when the change was made, and the mileages of both clocks on removal & install.

I've worked out how to do it!
It is easy and doesn't require pulling apart too much.
PM for details ;-)

I will now convert my Km and part miles to all Miles.

Not meaning to point out the obvious but if the odometer currently measures distance in Kilometers then no matter what digits you choose to display it will still go on measuring any distances in Kilometers unless you change the odometer drive ratio at the gearbox to one that measures in Miles.............

Correct me if I'm wrong..........

MY95 was a fresh import with km on the odometer and the 0-180km face changed to 0-112mph.

So odometer will still read in km, speedo face in mph up to 112 and restricted to 112mph.

Bought a gearbox speedo adapter so speedo and odometer will read slower and now restricted to 180mph!
Trouble is now speedo face reads incorrectly.

Bought a lockwood dial set 0-180mph now all reads correctly except odometer reading which is now part km and part miles!

odometer adjusted to read total miles

ALL DONE PHEW
