Default Where is the Lambda Sensor fitted

Hi I have a 94 WRX Wagon,

Where on the Exhaust is this. I was led to belive it is at the top of the down pipe. I guess this could mine bottom of the up pipe?? THe only sensor I can see as on the down pipe where the bend starts to go straight.

Is this the right one.

Seems that is would be easier to get to from underneath the car

I have heard people removing the I/C to get to it , but this seems well out the way. Th esensor plufg to th esensor I can see has at least 2 feet of cable until it gets to the plug connections by th einner wing.

Any help would be appreciated cause the car is running bad.

Mark.

Its either on the top of the downpipe, which points out the back of the turbo and goes down under the car, or in the headers. If its in the header, look under the driver side front bumper. It will be sticking out about level with the front indicator from memory.

If its a little one, its the "cat on fire sensor"

It appears as an icon on the dash display, three horzontal lines with heat streaks coming off it!

Er, I was being serious! It tells you if the cat has caught fire, its just a temp sensor.
