Question Missfire at idle. 97 Sport.

After much trial and error, I'm still getting a missfire at hot idle. I did have a crack in the downpipe, this has now been temp fixed. Whilst I think this was some of the problem I don't think its all of it. It takes a couple of minutes for the problem to start, say sitting at traffic lights.

Could this be down to the lambda sensor?

Also how important is it to change the fuel filter every 15k miles, I dont think mines been changed.

Cheers
Simon
