what MY have you got - newer models have a splitter in the scoop to direct more air onto the intercooler - although these can be made for classics too, I beleive there's currently a group buy going on for these at the moment.

thanks mate just looking into the group buy but I think its just for the splitter correct me if I am wrong which scoop has the splitter built in can I get one to fit my classic scoob ? don;t want the car to look any different mine is cracked because someone tried to steel it !

The later model sti's have a splitter built in ('03 on I think) This scoop won't fit your car as is. You can get a scoops that look like the new sti ones but fit the classics, but they do look different - much taller.

Apparently at over 120 ish, the standard air scoop on a classic, hits a brick wall and not much air gets in. Was a potential reason for many high speed blow ups.

I understood that the air just starts to miss it - goes over the top of the scoop - hence the taller one on the recent cars.
