Default Rolling Road Result

Attended a Rolling Road Session yesterday and was quite impressed with the figures for my Scoob

I have a MY00 Classic Impreza PPP - Running with a full hayward & Scott Decat, drilled out boost restrictor to 1.3mm and a STI Panel (which needs to be changed )

Anyway result was - 252BHP / 261 ft/lb torque This is with a rather warm tuning bay too and absolutely no sign of Det The graph shows a nice flat power curve and she held 0.95 Bar from 3500rpm through to 5500rpm - Max Power/Torque being achieved at 5850rpm

Chuffed too bits with the result

It helps to control overboost, caused (in this case) by fully de-catting a PPP'd car...

Going for handling next - gonna sort the handling and then maybe consider different ECU management.

What other mods could I do though to get extra horses without changing the ECU ?? Any ideas ?

Cheers for the comments guys

Porting exhaust headers (or replacing if you've got loads of cash!).

There's still some more boost available in that TD04...!

Yea would really like to get the Scoob up to the 280 mark with the TD04 but I belive my best way for this is GEMS ?? £1500 however is the stumbling block here

Thanks Judge - any idea how much the porting is gonna cost ?? and any ideas how much more BHP it will give me ??

Dunno how much extra bhp/torque porting will give you. It's supposed to help low down and quicker turbo spool up. Can be done DIY, if you can get the manifold off and you're handy with a Dremel. Pavlo was selling some he'd done a few months ago. Might be worth PMing him...

In theory, you could get some more out of the TD04 by increasing the pre-tension on the wastegate actuator. Or you could use a manual boost controller...

Nelson, the porting's pretty easy with the right tools....took me about an hour with a 13 mm carbide cutter from RS Components, in an air driven die grinder.

So when can I drop the Scoob round to you MicaRed I assume it made a difference to yours (after porting) ?

Thanks for your replies though - gives me something to think about

Nelson,

If doing the handling, get rear drop links and adjustable rear anti-roll bar from Whiteline.

You will be very impressed with the difference it makes, along with a full laser alignment to prodrive/powerstation/TSL type settings.

It all helps to tighten it all up and reduces the understeer by quite a margin.

P.S Flog the PPP and get an AE802 TEK3's. Then you will see 280BHP and 275lb/ft

My MY99 with h&s dp, magnex resonated centre and bb, K&N filter and STI intercooler with metal Y-pipe did 264.4 bhp and 260lb/ft (ECU is totally std).
This was on SIDC's rolling road day a few weeks ago at Prosport.
May be worth changing your intercooler or at least the Y-pipe for a Samco one if you have not already - every little bit helps

Nelson, tbh, the main reason I did mine was because it was suggested on here that it would help to quieten the exhaust when I started to modify the rest of it. I changed the up-pipe and d/pipe at the same time and certainly noticed a difference, but don't know how much of that was down to the porting.
