Unhappy help......me fuel light wont go off

and before anyone mentions it.............. yes, ive put fuel in it

I was coming up the M1 tonight and my fuel light came on, so i pulled into leicester forest services (fuel light had been on for no more than 5 miles) and put a tenner of fuel in. when i set off again the fuel light was still on, yet the fuel gauge was registering 1/4 of a tank. I've just drove the remaining 20 miles home and its still on, even after turning the ignition off and on again a few times.

Appart from completely filling it up tomorrow and seeing if that helps, has anyone any ideas ??

Oh yeh, also got scammed for 91.9p a litre for BP ultishyte.........Feckin rip off britain again

I'd suggest an ECU reset and read the error codes that flash at you.

Sounds like some sensor isn't working or a broken wire/bad earth?
What MY / model have you got?
