its a internal engine cleaner cleans and decokes the engine parts i think your supposed to spary after the maf sensor and then put maf back in the engine should be running while you spray if i remember then drive around the block

If this is the PRODUCT it recommends that the engine is running and the aerosol contents sprayed into the intake - supposed to be an engine decoke.

Cheers

Ohh Dear, i wouldnt put that stuff anywhere near my car, as for spraying it through the air intake you have probably kissed goodbye to your MAF sensor.

The reason you engine died is the MAF has got coated with the stuff and cant read the incoming air density so it causes the engine to cut out.

If you try to spray it after the MAF you engine will die as you still need an intake pipe off to be able to apply the spray and once again the MAF will read incorrectly and close down.

Dont believe everything you read on the tin, i bet it doesnt say anything about damaging the extra sensitive Subaru MAF sensor. Ohh and a new one will cost you £360 for a Bugeye.

Still the tin looks nice....

Ken, you may have got away with it but a failing MAF doesnt always show up easily.Mine was spotted via delta dash before it went south due to an ITG filter.

Me personally i would take it out and clean it with some alchohol based cleaner and put it back together and fingers crossed hope everything might be fine.

Next time leave the 10k boost on the shelf and add some redex or similair to your fuel.

Usual method to clean it is to remove it and repeatedly spray it with card cleaner ( or brake cleaner ) to wash off any oily residue.

MAF Failures are covered recently on Scoobynet, search on MAF.

Basically a poor idle surging up and down, and if you unplug the maf the car does not stall ( as it should ! )

Also, if you reset ECU the car runs rough for a while as the ECU had previously learned the failing MAF and compensated for it, after a reset it needs to learn again and so shows up the problem.

It IS unlikely you have wrecked your MAF, they are pretty tough apart from a couple of MY years around MY98/99 when the thin film type was used , which are more fragile!

Cost of replacement , if an all in one item is needed ( sensor and housing tube ) about £280, but if just the sensor then about £75 IIRC. ( Not sure on the year brake point, later models need just the sensor).

Whoops sorry, no idea of cost to replace MAF for a bugeye, see Zippy's note above.

Only way to squirt it into engine while running would be by pulling out the crankcase breather or similar from the inlet hose and squirting in there .. again, not sure on bugeyes!
