Default general new owner advice

hi all.

ive now owned my scooby for 4 weeks, its a '96 4 door wrx import, its got 101000 km on the clock, this works out at about 64000 miles i think, the engine oil and filter were changed as part of the buying deal if you see what i mean!!

i would like to know a few things, when will it need next service(i.e what are the intervals) what will need doing at the next service?

after browsing this site, ive seen lots of discussions that i feel relevant to, like which petrol to use, i know the japs have this 'regular' 100 ron, does that mean, i need to use 'super' 97 with an octane booster to get somewhere near the jap stuff, on the other hand ive read that octane booster can naus the cat up.....
im paranoid about killing the engine, i was always under the impression that the cars were relatively bullet proof (providing they were looked after) i never take the car over 3000 until the temp gauge is at normal (half way on mine), and always take it gently for a while before i know im going to stop, what else can i do to prolong its life......

the car has an unknown exhaust, a blow of valve, and an hks mushroom type filter, ive read on here about the induction kits nausing the maf sensor up, which can lead to other probs, is it wise to change this back to the original air box? which one? are jap ones the same as uk ones? The reason i ask is because some days the car seems to not be performing as it has done.....

how different are jap and uk cars in respect of buying service parts, i.e can i walk into my local dealer or do i need to seek a specialist out, i live in north east hampshire and my nearest dealer appears to be sparshatts at botley.....

right thats it i think, the car is excellent in every respect, the best thing ive ever bought by a long way, waving, hazard flashing fellow owners are a nice touch!!!

oh one thing whats the tyres pressures suppossed to be, it has i think 205/50/16 tyres on it.

thanks in advance.

and am now awaiting new engine being fitted
having said that i have never had so much fun with a car
as for dealer servicing ,doubtful but you may get lucky(i am in essex and mine are not the most helpful) good luck

thanks for the reply adam, so are you saying that running on 95 ron was a contributing factor to the dead engine? how did you go about getting a replacement, did it have to be an import donor engine, or are you getting a rebuild.

any other answers please..
